DESCRIPTION:Without a doubt\, Tinkertown itself is one big ASSEMBLAGE!  With 2 D and 3 D art elements making up walls\, displays\, mini-worlds and rooms\, it is an interactive art experience created by Ross Ward. Participants will use collage\, paint and objects old and new to create new visions. This workshop is open-ended and fun. Come play with “stuff” and let your imagination speak for itself! SUMMARY:Trash to Treasure: Creating "Trash Fairies"
DESCRIPTION:Students will explore the process of using creative association and found materials to make small assemblages called “trash fairies.” Depending on the scale of the works\, these assemblages can be framed as art\, used as jewelry\, refrigerator magnets\, or exist on their own as small sculptures. Participants are encouraged to bring their own “found materials” for incorporation into the work. Each student will leave the workshop with a completed project to take home. This class is designed for all skill levels. If you can make a choice and use glue\, you can create these assemblages. DESCRIPTION:RELIEF PRINTMAKING: Ross Ward was\, not surprisingly\, a prolific printmaker. Many of his woodcuts and etchings are part of the permanent collection at Tinkertown. Participants will create a relief print using an easy-cut 6 X 8 plate to carve an image into. Prints will be pulled on quality printing paper.
